Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Quicksi Technologies Pty Ltd (ACN 702 258 599) trading as Quicksi ("Quicksi", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (the "Platform"). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
1. The personal information we collect
Account and profile — name, email address, phone number, password, and profile details, including a profile photo if you choose to add one (a customer's photo is shown only to the Cleaner who has their booking). Booking information — service type, property type and size, job notes, schedule, and property address, and any photos of the home you choose to add when you book. Those photos are shown to the Cleaners offered your job and to the Cleaner who does it; leave out anything personal. Location data stored in a photo is removed when it is uploaded. Location information — the address and approximate coordinates needed to match and deliver a clean.
Payment information — processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. We receive limited details to manage a transaction; we do not collect or store full card numbers. A cleaner gives their identity and bank details to Stripe directly to receive payouts; we receive only what we need to pay them, such as whether their account can be paid. Your card is kept on file by our payment provider, not by us, only so the hold on a booking can be renewed until the job is settled. Cleaners' own calendars — if a cleaner chooses to connect their Google, Apple or Outlook calendar, we read only the times they are busy, so they are not offered jobs that clash. We never store event titles, places, attendees or notes, and the cleaner can disconnect it at any time. Ratings of customers — after a paid booking, the cleaner may rate the customer (stars and preset descriptions of conduct around the job, no written comments). Customers see only their average, and cleaners see it on offers. You can ask us for the ratings we hold about you. Communications and content — messages sent through the Platform, reviews, ratings, photos you upload, and your correspondence with our support team.
Cleaner verification information — if you apply as a Cleaner, we collect identity documents, a police or background-check result, your ABN, certifications, and a profile photo. If you start an application and don't finish it, we keep your name, email, phone number and how far you got, so you can finish later and we can send you one reminder; we delete it after 30 days. If you take a photo with your phone during the application (“Use your phone”), it is stored the same way as an upload, and deleted within a day if the application is never submitted. Technical and usage data — device identifiers, app version, IP address, log data, push-notification tokens, and analytics about how the Platform is used.
Access and security logs — whether you use the Platform as a Customer or a Cleaner, we keep a record of security events on your account, including sign-ins (successful and failed), sign-outs, password resets and changes, email-address changes, and account deletion. Each record may include the date and time, the IP address, and device or browser information (user-agent) associated with the event. We never record your password or verification codes in these logs.
Verification codes and SMS data — when we send a one-time code to verify your phone number, we store a protected (hashed) form of the code, the phone number it was sent to, and the requesting IP address, for a short period. Account credits — if we issue credit to your account (for example, goodwill credit after a cancellation), we keep a record of the amount, the reason, and the related booking.
Waitlist — if you join the waitlist before bookings open, or before they open in your city, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your suburb, plus the city you are waiting for and, if you joined while booking, the service and the price you were quoted. We use them for one purpose only: to email you once when you can book. We do not add you to any other mailing list or share them.
2. Sensitive information
Some information we collect is "sensitive information" under the Privacy Act — for example, a police or background check, or any health or allergy details a Customer chooses to share to inform a clean. We collect sensitive information only where it is reasonably necessary and with your consent, and we use and disclose it only for the purpose for which it was provided or as permitted by law.
Police checks. A Cleaner uploads their National Police Check with their consent so we can confirm they are eligible to receive job offers. Only Quicksi staff who review Cleaners can open it, through a temporary link, and access is logged. From it we record the issue date, the issuing body and the certificate's reference number, so we can verify it and remind the Cleaner to renew it. We never record the details of any result. Customers see only a "Police checked" badge, never the check itself.
3. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, make a Booking, communicate through the Platform, or contact support; automatically as you use the Platform (through your device and our analytics); and from third parties such as background-check and identity-verification providers, where you have authorised this.
4. Why we use your personal information
We use personal information to create and manage accounts; match Customers with Cleaners; process Bookings, payments, and payouts; verify Cleaners; enable messaging and notifications; provide customer support; maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Platform; detect and prevent fraud and misuse; resolve disputes; comply with our legal obligations; and improve and develop the Platform.
We use access and security logs specifically to protect your account and the Platform — for example, to detect unusual sign-in activity, lock accounts after repeated failed sign-in attempts, investigate suspected unauthorised access or fraud, assist you with account recovery, and meet our security and record-keeping obligations. We do not use access logs for marketing.
5. Notifications and direct marketing
With your consent where required, we may send you service messages, push notifications, emails, and SMS related to your account and Bookings, and occasionally information about features or offers. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe option or your device and account settings. We will still send essential service messages needed to operate your account.
6. When and with whom we disclose information
Between Users — to enable a Booking, we share the information each party needs (for example, a Customer's first name, address, and job details with the matched Cleaner, and a Cleaner's profile with the Customer). The exact address, access notes and the booking chat are shown to the Cleaner only while they need them: once a job is paid or cancelled, the Cleaner sees the suburb only, and messages, notes and photos of the home are no longer shown to them. Notifications sent by email, SMS or push name the suburb, never the street address, and never include the text of a message. We keep the full record for support and disputes.
Service providers — we disclose information to trusted providers who help us run the Platform, including payment processing, email and SMS delivery, identity and background-check verification, media and image storage, mapping and address lookup, cloud hosting and infrastructure, and analytics. These providers may only handle personal information to perform services for us and under obligations of confidentiality and security.
Legal, safety, and business — we may disclose information where required or authorised by law, to enforce our terms, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Users or the public, or in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of our business.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers may store or process personal information outside Australia. Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, or rely on an applicable exception under the Privacy Act.
8. Cookies, analytics, and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that follow you across other websites. We do not sell or share your browsing activity.
What we do store in your browser is limited to running the service: two secure session cookies that keep you signed in and cannot be read by scripts, and a small amount of local storage holding your display name and role, an identifier so you can recognise this browser in your own account's active-sessions list, and whether you have already rated a support article.
We use Sentry to capture technical errors so faults can be diagnosed and fixed. It is configured for error reporting only — it does not record your screen or session, and it is set not to attach cookies, request headers, or IP addresses.
You can clear or block this storage through your browser settings. The session cookies are required to stay signed in, so blocking them means you will not be able to use an account.
9. How we keep your information secure
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure — including encrypted connections, access controls, signed media uploads, access and security logging of account activity (see section 1), rate-limiting, temporary account lockout after repeated failed sign-in attempts, and the use of reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Data breaches
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.
11. Retention and deletion
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy or as required by law. When you delete your account, we anonymise or remove your personal information and delete associated uploaded files, except where we are required or permitted to retain certain records — for example, for tax, accounting, safety, or dispute- resolution purposes.
What a deleted account leaves. If the account never had a paid booking, nothing is kept. If it had at least one, we keep a private record — name, email, phone number, ABN and, for a Cleaner, the verification record (approval date, and the police check's issue date, issuing body and reference number) — with the details of those bookings (address, notes, messages and photos), so that a later claim, dispute, request from police, or tax question can be answered. No identity document or certificate file is kept. Only Quicksi staff can access it, each access is logged with its reason, and it is used for nothing else. It is deleted 7 years after the account's last paid booking.
An unfinished Cleaner application is deleted 30 days after it was started.
A police check file is replaced as soon as a new one is uploaded. If it expires and is not replaced, the file is deleted 30 days after it expired. Its recorded details (issue date, issuing body and reference number) are kept while the account is open, as the record that the check was made; when the account is deleted they go too, unless the account had a paid booking, in which case they are kept with the record described above.
Access and security logs are retained for a limited period — generally no longer than 12 months — after which they are automatically deleted, unless a longer period is required for an ongoing investigation, dispute, or legal obligation. Records of security events (such as a failed sign-in attempt or an account-deletion event) may be retained after account deletion because they form part of our security and fraud-prevention records; they are then limited to what is needed for that purpose. Expired one-time verification codes are deleted or become unusable after a short period.
Waitlist details — your email, suburb and, if you tried to book, the address you entered — are kept only until we have sent the email telling you bookings are open or that cleaners now reach your address, and are then deleted — or sooner if you ask us at privacy@quicksi.com.au.
12. Your rights and choices
You may request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you, in accordance with APPs 12 and 13. You can review and update much of your information directly in the app. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some requests may be subject to exceptions permitted by law. We will respond within a reasonable time.
13. How to make a privacy complaint
If you have a privacy concern or believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@quicksi.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
14. Children
The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
15. Third-party links and services
The Platform may link to or rely on third-party services (such as payment and mapping providers). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review them.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the date above. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you through the Platform.
17. Contact us
