How Quicksi works for independent cleaners
Last updated: 12 October 2026
It's your business
You use Quicksi as an independent cleaner running your own business. Each job is an agreement between you and the customer; Quicksi provides the platform that connects you, handles the booking and collects payment (Terms 2 and 9.1).
- You decide which days and hours you are available, how far you travel and which services you offer — change them any time in your profile, on the website or in the app.
- You decide how you clean: your methods, order, pace, equipment and products. The estimated time on a job is a guide to its size, not a deadline (Terms 9.10).
- You can work on other platforms and for your own clients at the same time — there is no exclusivity (Terms 9.4).
- Who goes to the job: you, as the person who accepted it — the customer sees your verified profile. You can send a substitute or bring a member of your own team, to replace you or work alongside you, as long as they have registered and passed the same checks on Quicksi first (Profile → My team, in the app). The customer is told who is coming (Terms 9.5).
Pricing and your pay
- Every offer shows what you will earn before you decide. The price shown is the indicative price for what the customer booked.
- If you think a job is worth more, you can make a counter-offer; the customer decides (Terms 9.7).
- If the home turns out materially different from what was booked, you can ask to adjust the price on site, with photos — the customer approves or declines, and no answer within 30 minutes counts as declined. If it's declined you can carry on at the agreed price or withdraw with no penalty (Terms 9.9).
- Quicksi charges a platform fee of 15% of the job for its services — finding customers, matching, scheduling, payment processing and support — so you keep 85%. The rate is fixed when the job is booked and only changes for new bookings, with 14 days' notice (Terms 6.7).
- With a regular client (you agreed to be their plan's regular cleaner), the platform fee falls as you complete more of their visits — 12% from the 5th, 10% from the 11th — because there is no matching round to pay for. Your offer shows the pay at your level (Terms 6.10).
- Sunday and public-holiday premiums go 100% to you, and so does any cancellation fee a customer pays (Terms 6.6, 7).
- Your pay is released when the customer confirms the job, or automatically 24 hours after you mark it complete if they don't respond, and paid to your bank through Stripe (Terms 6).
Choosing your work
- Offers reach you based on how close you are, your rating, a fair spread of work, the customer's preferences and whether you hold verified public liability insurance (Terms 9.8, 10.1).
- Declining or ignoring an offer never counts against you (Terms 9.8). Accept only the jobs that suit you and that you can do well.
- Going away or fully booked? Pause offers from your profile; jobs you have already accepted are not affected.
- Working for your own clients too? In Jobs → Calendar, block time that repeats (“every Tuesday 9–12”), or connect your Google, Apple or Outlook calendar — Quicksi reads only when you're busy, never what the event is, and won't offer you a job that clashes (Terms 9.4).
- Quicksi does not guarantee any amount of work (Terms 9.4).
- Each offer shows the customer's average rating from other cleaners (“New customer” until they have a few). After a paid job you can rate the customer too — stars and preset choices, optional. They only see their average, never your rating (Terms 12.1).
Working with customers
Once you accept, you have agreed a time and a job with the customer. What they have been told to expect:
- Arrival at the agreed time. Tap On my way when you set off. If you'll be late, tell the customer through the app — a notified delay extends your check-in time (Terms 7.7).
- Check in on arrival in the app. Check-in opens an hour before the start time and closes two hours after it (Terms 7.7).
- What was booked, done to a professional standard (Terms 9.1). Work outside the booking isn't part of the job; if the home needs much more than described, ask for a price adjustment (Terms 9.9).
- Photos of the finished work are your best evidence if anything is questioned later.
- Keep messages and payment on the platform — it is what protects you if something is disputed, and arranging the same customer off Quicksi to avoid fees is not allowed (Terms 11).
If you need to cancel
Things happen. If you cancel a job you accepted, or don't attend, the customer is refunded in full and Quicksi tries to find them another cleaner. Because the customer was relying on you, these are recorded on your account and count more the closer they are to the start time; repeated or unjustified ones can mean fewer offers, and in serious cases suspension (Terms 7.7).
If you did the job but couldn't check in, you can still claim it with photos (Terms 7.7A).
Conduct and safety
These are the conditions for anyone using Quicksi — customers and cleaners alike (Terms 12):
- Treat customers and their homes with respect; never discriminate or harass.
- Take care of the property and anything in it; if something is damaged, tell the customer and Quicksi straight away.
- Never take anything, or bring anyone the customer hasn't been told about (Terms 9.5).
- Keep customers' details private and use them only for the job.
- You can leave, and report it, if a home is unsafe or someone behaves inappropriately — customers must provide a safe place to work (Terms 8.3, 8.7).
- Can't get in, or the home isn't safe? Don't cancel — tap Can't get in, or not safe? on the job. If the customer agrees, or doesn't answer and you were verified at the address, you're paid 60% of the job and it isn't counted against you (Terms 7.5).
What stays with you
Because you run your own business, these are yours, not Quicksi's (Terms 9.2, 10):
- Your ABN, tax and GST, superannuation and any other business obligations.
- Your own insurance. Public liability cover is optional on Quicksi — if you have it, upload your certificate for an Insured badge and a small priority in matching.
- Your equipment and products (unless a customer chose to supply theirs).
- Anyone you send in your place, and what you agree with them.
Your police check
To receive job offers and show the Police checked badge, you need a current National Police Check (Terms 9.11):
- Upload one issued in the last 6 months — you can apply online through the Australian Federal Police.
- It stays current for 12 months from its issue date. We email you 30 and 7 days before it expires.
- If it expires, offers and the badge pause until a new one is accepted. Nothing else about your account changes.
- Only Quicksi staff who review cleaners can open it. We record its issue date, issuer and reference number — never the details of any result — and customers see only the badge (Privacy Policy).
If something goes wrong
- If a customer disputes a job, your payout is held while Quicksi reviews both sides — usually within 3–5 business days (Terms 7.9).
- Quicksi may offer the customer a re-clean. If they want it, you're asked whether you'd like to return — it's your choice, and saying no isn't counted against you. If you return and they confirm it's fixed, you're paid the job in full (Terms 7.9A).
- Before Quicksi suspends or removes an account, you're told why in writing and can respond, except where safety, fraud or the law requires immediate action. A person decides, and you can ask for a review (Terms 17.1).
